From cash payouts to housing grant, here’s all you need to know about the support for families!
From Government Budget 2020
- $600 / $900 / $1200 for Singaporeans aged 21 and above (includes $300 Solidarity Payment)
- Additional $300 for each parent (with at least 1 child aged below 20 in 2020)
- $100 Passion Card top-up for Singaporeans aged 50 and above
- Temporary Relief Fund – immediate financial assistance of $500
(You may apply at all SSOs and Community Clubs) - $3,000 cash payout under Workfare Special Payment for workers who had already received Workfare Income Supplement payment previously in 2019
– $1,500 in July; $1,500 in Oct - Enhanced Silver Support Scheme: higher quarterly payout of up to $900 to lower-income seniors
- Assurance Package when GST rate increases in the future – cash payout of $700 to $1,600 over 5 years
- $1,000 bursaries for pre-university students from lower-income families
- Up to $200 a year in cash bursary quantum for full-time ITE students
- Up to $1,000 GST Voucher – U-Save
- Grocery vouchers of $300 in 2020; $100 in 2021
- 1-year suspension of student loan repayments and interest charges for university and polytechnic students
- 3 months suspension of late payment charges on HDB mortgage arrears
- Service and Conservancy Charges (S&CC) rebate for 1 year
- Up to $160,000 in housing grants for first-time flat buyers
- Higher pre-school subsidies
- Increased transport subsidies for students
- Increased school meals subsidies for secondary school students
- Deferment of GIRO deductions for 3 months for taxpayers on GIRO instalment plan
- Extension of GIRO instalment payment for taxpayers facing financial difficulties due to COVID-19
- Payment extension for taxpayers who opt for one-time lump-sum payments
- $20m grant to Self-Help Groups over two years
- $75m to Community Development Councils to push out initiatives for needy families
