At the moment, online courses or e-learning seems to be the way to go in this ongoing COVID-19 environment.
Not only are you able to learn in the safety of your own home, but you can make better use of your time when you need a break from work.
Which is why my interest was piqued when I learned that NTUC LearningHub (LHUB), in partnership with Go1.com, had recently launched its rebranded online learning platform called LHUB GO.
What’s more, LHUB GO is currently offering 100 free courses to the general public and 200 free courses to NTUC union members for six months.
The Experience
Navigating around the site is a simple affair. The site will prompt users to sign up for either the 100 or 200 free courses available.
The site will then ask you to select your area of interest, which varies from self-improvement to workplace safety.
The duration of the courses varies as well, with classes like “Become a Professional Graphic Designer” stretching to an estimated 21 hours, to bite-size courses like one on managing stress – which only lasts four minutes.
As I found the concept interesting, I decided to try one called “Stress Levels – Adapting to the Stressful Situation”.
While the video itself lasted just under four minutes, some exercises would take some more time to complete.
Nevertheless, it is still a more productive way to spend your time while you are working from home.
LHUB and Go1
“As we celebrate the nation’s 55th birthday, NTUC LHUB will extend this initiative to help us emerge stronger as one nation.
“With this spirit of unity and solidarity, we hope LHUB GO will support our workforce through changing times… I encourage the current learners to learn more and the new learners to join in and seize the opportunity to upskill or get a taste of new subjects through this platform,” said NTUC LHUB CEO Kwek Kok Kwong.
Go1 Co-founder Vu Tran said: “Go1 is passionate about helping individuals and organisations with lifelong learning.
“We have no doubt that the free courses on LHUB GO will be a great learning experience and serve to enhance Singaporeans’ career paths.”
Courses
While writing this article, I managed to complete another course titled “Infection Prevention and Control”.
The relatively easy course served to remind us about safety techniques we should know, especially amidst the ongoing pandemic.
There are also a host of useful refresher courses on office-based applications like Microsoft or Adobe.
So check out LHUB GO to see what skills you can pick up to enhance yourself.
Remember, the free courses are only available till 7 February 2021.
I don’t know about you guys, but there is this Adobe Photoshop Beginner course that I can’t wait to try.
