That’s the number of Learning Journeys conducted since 2009! nEbO kickstarted the learning journey series with the support of NTUC unions with the first session held at Port Authority of Singapore (PSA). These series aims to prepare youths to be Work-Ready and allow them to explore various industries to make informed choices about their future career paths.

Befitting its youthful vibe, nEbO’s Spirit of Youth Awards (SOYA) was first launched on 2 April 2011 at Zouk to recognise, commend and encourage nEbO youths’ contributions. It was attended by more than 300 nEbO activists and outstanding individuals, teams and valued corporate partners who have contributed to the betterment of nEbO and they were recognised during the Awards ceremony.

To commemorate Singapore’s Golden Jubilee, nEbO launched a SG50 Book – “My Story. Our Aspiration. One Heartbeat”, which featured 50 nEbO youths’ stories and aspirations for the nation’s future.
This book was presented to Minister Heng Swee Keat during the book’s official launch at nEbO’s Spirit of Youth Awards 2015.

In 2008, nEbO co-organised their first Youth Entrepreneurship Symposium (YES) with NUS Biz Ad Club to encourage the entrepreneurial spirit among youths through a series of workshops and talks by successful entrepreneurs.

nEbO was launched on 07.07.07 to nurture emotional connections with youths via nEbO’s six interest communities – care, entrepreneurship, gaming, lifestyle, music, and sports. It is a social club that reaches out to youths ages 12-25, socially engaging them in creating a vibrant community that is Work-Ready, World-ready and Life-Ready!

What’s TYID? It is a ground-up initiative and the first in Singapore to advocate a campaign for interns’ workplace rights, ‘Thank Your Intern Day’! TYID was started in 2013, after a video of a boss abusing an intern in the workplace went viral. A group of nEbO leaders then decided to start TYID to encourage the appreciation of interns among employers and bring awareness to fair workplace practices. Over 2,000 youth and employers have been engaged.

In 2012, nEbO increased its outreach to schools through the provision of enrichment programmes that will value-add to the learning experiences of the students and bring about more collaboration opportunities. This resulted in 4 MOUs signed between nEbO and other learning institutions with the Institute of Technical Education being the first to come onboard.

Launched in 2011, nEbO’s LEAD (Learn, Engage And Develop) Programme aimed to mould potential youth leaders to contribute at the community level for the Labour Movement (LM) to ensure continual leadership renewal within LM.
Enhanced in 2014 to include outdoor leadership activities, 84 nEbO leaders have gone through the LEAD Programme where they can develop leadership competencies in a fun and vibrant environment.

Congratulations! nEbO successfully reached their milestone of 100,000 nEbO members in 2015!!
P.S. A boy named Daryl Tan was the 100,000th member of nEbO! He won a staycation experience at Downtown East, a home for nEbO members!
